SPEED TRAINING* – For athletes of all ages

Speed Training
Speed training is often an overlooked part of the training of young athletes, especially if the position they play in competition doesn’t require much sprinting. Our speed training includes proper arm swing, leg recovery and posture. By improving an athlete’s maximum speed, we can actually increase their overall response time.

Acceleration Training
How fast an athlete can accelerate is important in every sport. Our program teaches an athlete how to maximize his or her acceleration by teaching proper joint angles and ground-force application.

Deceleration Training
An athlete must not only be quick but also know how to decelerate or stop, safely and quickly. This is crucial before he or she can begin working on the change-of-direction training. Most injuries involving running are a result of improper deceleration.

Change-of-Direction
In most sports, an athlete must be able to change direction quickly. This requires training in strength, balance and proper joint placement. Learning how to position each foot, and in what direction, maximizes an athlete’s ability to quickly change direction.

Reaction Training
How fast an athlete can react to his or her environment and what is happening around them can have a big impact on how fast he or she can develop as an athlete. Programming the nervous system to react quickly and fire certain neuromuscular transmitters is a learned process that requires training.
