Active Dynamic Warm-Up
At Powerhouse Athletic Academy we teach athletes perfect technique in performing an active dynamic warm-up routine — the most effective way to warm-up before workouts or competition. Remember, proper warm-up is critical before any running or lifting exercise. Active dynamic warm-up consists of pre planned movements that increase flexibility, blood flow and body core temperature. These pre planned movements improve mobility, balance, and stability by turning on the brain-to-body connection. Active dynamic warm-up also increases muscular/cardiovascular endurance, motor skill coordination and also prevents injury.
Anaerobic Conditioning
Anaerobic conditioning is designed for athletes in non-endurance sports to build up their power and muscle mass. Muscles trained under anaerobic conditions develop differently, leading to greater performance for short duration and high intensity activities that last up to, but no longer than, two minutes. By training athletes through several bursts of dynamic anaerobic activities, we can better condition their bodies and enable them to recover faster during games.
